The Midwestern state of Michigan has the longest freshwater shoreline in the world, thanks to being positioned next to Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Superior, and Lake Erie. Massachusetts is a small state in the New England part of the United States. It shares a boundary with Vermont and New Hampshire to the north, New York to its West, Rhode Island and Connecticut to its south, and the Atlantic Ocean to its east.

The eastern portion of Massachusetts is largely urban, with Boston being its capital city and largest metropolitan area. Though Boston is a relatively small city in terms of land mass, the area is full of great towns and suburbs.
